Life in Baton Rouge:

Baton Rouge is the state capital of Louisiana, the second largest city in the state, and offers a range of both indoor and outdoor activities year round for all ages. Local favorites include farmer’s markets, Native American cultural sites, performing arts, shopping, an extensive public library system, and Mardi Gras. Miles of scenic biking and running trails around the LSU lakes, along the Mississippi River, and expanding throughout the city, provide plenty of opportunities to keep moving. A burgeoning restaurant scene serves up a diverse array of culinary treats and local delicacies, which are unlike anywhere else in the United States. Local nightlife ranges from “speakeasies” to college bars to sports bars, and the atmosphere around Tiger Stadium on Saturdays in autumn is not to be missed. The unique geography of the area allows one to explore the city in the morning, and be in the wilds of the bayou in the afternoon, offering a wide array of activities to quench any interest.
